Brick floors are porous and you will have to put in a lot of time and effort to clean this kind of flooring. Using a sealer that is made for brick is best, wither it’s a solvent based or water based. Water base sealers are better to use indoors, they won’t have the odor that a solvent base will. Lacquer or varnish will not work.
- First, vacuum the floor to get rid of debris. Then use a damp mop to get rid of dirt.
- Never use abrasives, strong soaps, or acids to clean brick floor as it can get damaged.
- If you do not want to use a sealer , make a solution of quarter cup of low sudsing all purpose cleaner, one cup of ammonia and half gallon of cool water to remove build-up of wax. Use a sponge mop to apply this solution on the floor.
